The Pettitt-Callahan family wish all Windham High School graduates well and appreciate the opportunity to give back to the Windham High School Community.

This scholarship is to honor Kipp and Kate Callahan and the Natchaug, Middle School, and Windham High School faculty who provided them a stimulating environment and a foundation for lifelong learning.  Our preference is that this scholarship go to a student who attended Natchaug Elementary and will attend a private 4-year college with an intent to major in the social or physical sciences or education.

Kipp Callahan (2004 WHS graduate) received his undergraduate degree in Geology from Tufts University and is currently enrolled in a Master's Program in Plant Biology at North Carolina State University.  In between, he worked for the United States Forest and Park Services in Idaho and California and as a geologist in Massachusetts.  Kipp is a former Windham Dollars for Scholars award recipient.

Kate Callahan (2006 WHS graduate) received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Public Policy from Syracuse University.  She is a registered dietician who completed her dietetics internship through Simmons College.  Kate worked as a fellow for the Congressional Hunger Center and member of the Food Corps. Kate now works for Windham Public Schools and WRCC providing garden and nutrition education to children and teachers in Windham Public Schools as well as in after-school and summer programs in Windham.  Kate is a former Windham Dollars for Scholars award recipient.
